DIY PATCHES

We recently been obsessed with the trend of patches!! We love the vintage type look the patches add to any piece of fashion. Anyways, patches (depending where you get them) seem to be really expensive and I wouldn't want to spend so much on a product i can easily make at home. Making my first patch wasn't the best, because i had zero experience knowing how to make the patch in the first place. But, i tried and tried and examined and tried out different techniques which helped me create more and more. Enough of this rambling let us begin on this bomb project!

Materials needed:

1. embroidery thread

2. scissors

3. fabric

4. needle

5. PATIENCE!!!

I started off by choosing my thread and the material needed for the patch i was making- today i was making a avocado. To find more inspo go and search online or on social media for patches. PRO TIP: make sure you have different colours of thread so that you can add shadows and different hues to make it nicer! I traced out the avocado using a reference photo online and cut out the shape. Now this is the part where you might want to have some music or tv playing in the background (no particular reason really, but it usually helps me concentrate or makes me complete it faster). Let us begin to embroider! Start by using a basic stitch to outline the patch and after you have done that start filling it in with long or short basic stitches. I find it easier by diving your patch in certain areas where you need a certain colour of thread. Continue to outline and fill and then you're done!
